Welcome: Music

Music at EPC

At Eastminster Presbyterian, we believe music is an integral part of our fellowship as a church family, and should be open to all who desire to worship Christ through music. We also seek to incorporate a variety of musical worship traditions each Sunday. To that end, the Music Ministry at EPC is dedicated to offering opportunities for everyone who is interested in leading worship through music. Each of our musical ensembles seeks to educate and enrich all of the participants who give their time to this ministry.  We offer opportunities for both instrumental and vocal music, and for children, youth and adults. Everyone is welcome in the Music Ministry at Eastminster! If you are interested in joining, please take the time to read about each of our different ensembles to find which one works best for you.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is open to adults and highschool students interested in leading worship through music. This is the main musical group whose primary responsibility is leading worship on Sunday mornings.

During the year, we rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7-8pm in the choir room at the back of the sanctuary.

During the summer (beginning after Memorial Day), the choir practices only before the worship service on Sundays at 9:00 am. All music is accessible. This is a great way to try choir out no matter what your age or experience.

You are welcome to join us at any time whether you are a beginner or experienced musician.

Contact Music Director, Lucie Svatonova-Hughes at lucie@eastminster.com with any questions.

Handbell Choir

The handbell choir contributes to worship services periodically throughout the year.  The choir performs a wide variety of music, but takes special pride in being a source for great fun, spirited music making, and fellowship!  Rehearsals during the school year are Wednesdays from 6:15-7pm in the Sanctuary. We take a pause during the summer months (after Memorial Day). Visitors are welcome any time to observe or participate. Even if you have never played the handbells before but would like to try, we can teach you!
